A four-year letter winner on the Lamar University volleyball team, Leanne Zeek was a three-time All-American South Conference performer (1987, 1988, 1989) and was a three-time academic all-conference selection. She helped the Lady Cardinals capture the 1988 and 1989 American South Conference titles.

Zeek shares the school record for most kills in a match with 34, a feat she accomplished against Auburn. She set the school record for block solos in a match with seven against Arkansas State. At the time of her induction, she ranked high on LU’s all-time career list in several categories, including sixth in blocks (28), seventh in kills (1,222) and ninth in service aces (158).

Zeek lettered in basketball for the 1986-87 season, leading the team with 23 blocked shots. She also lettered on the track and field team in the discus.

Zeek, and her father, Paul Zeek, a 1998 inductee, became the first father-daughter combination inducted into the Cardinal Hall of Honor.
