Cardinal Hall of Honor
A four-year starter on the Lamar University men’s basketball team, Kenneth Perkins still ranks among the school’s all-time leaders in several statistical categories.
At the time of his induction, Perkins ranked 11th in scoring with 1,299 points, fifth in rebounding with 912 and second in blocked shots with 133. His 119 career starts are the most in school history. His 120 games played put him in the top 10 for that category.
Perkins led the team in rebounding in 1981-82 with 8.8 per game and again in 1983-84 at 7.4 per game. He earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors in 1982, 1983 and 1984.
Perkins help Lamar post a 96-25 record during his career, win three conference championships and make two appearances in the NCAA Tournament and two appearances in the NIT.
