Cardinal Hall of Honor
Jaime Subirats was a four-year letterman on the Lamar University men’s tennis team from 1965-68. He teamed with Sherwood Stewart, who was a 1984 Hall of Honor inductee, to form the most formidable doubles team in LU history.
Subirats holds the school record for most wins in doubles competition with 51, and posted a 14-0 dual-match record in 1968. He captured the 1966 and 1968 Southland Conference doubles championships.
Subirats finished second at the NCAA College Division Championships in 1968 and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA University Division Championships.
Subirats won the Southland Conference singles championship in 1967, when LU upset Trinity for the team championship, the only year from 1964-72 that Trinity did not win the conference title. He finished second at the NCAA College Division Championships in 1967.
