Kara (Audery) Broussard was a two-time All-Southland Conference performer for Lamar University (1983, 1984).
As a junior in 1982-83, she averaged 13.0 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. She averaged 21.4 points and 13.4 rebounds in 1983-84 as a senior. At the time of her induction, her career average of 17.5 points per game ranked fifth in school history, while her career average of 12.8 rebounds per game was a school and Southland Conference record.
Broussard scored a career-high 43 points against North Texas on Jan. 23, 1984, which ranked second best in LU history. She grabbed a Lamar and Southland Conference record 28 rebounds against McNeese State on Feb. 28, 1984.
Broussard se the Lamar career record for field-goal percentage at .639. She ranked second all-time in school history by grabbing 20 or more rebounds in a game six times.
