Top 25 – Kinard Sets School Record in Scoring

| By:
Now that the academic year is over, and before we begin the 2019-20 season, LamarCardinals.com wanted to take a look back at what we felt were the Top 25 Moments of the 2018-19 season. The top 25 list was voted on by a panel of 15 members of the LU senior and external staff.

No. 6
BEAUMONT, Texas –
On Nov. 23, 2018, Moe Kinard set the school record in scoring. In the contest at Denver, Kinard scored a school and Southland Conference record 58 points. She broke the scoring record of Lara Webb (3/3/96) and Tamara Abalde (11/24/07), who both scored 44 points.

By scoring 58 points, Kinard became the first Cardinal to score 50 or more points in a contest. The 58 points were the most points scored by a single player in an NCAA contest last year. Besides scoring 58 points, Kinard hit an LU, SLC and NCAA record 13 three-pointers in the contest.

"Moe was outstanding on both ends of the floor against Denver," said head coach Robin Harmony.  "She is a great shooter and is capable of putting up points in bunches."

In the double-over time contest against Denver, Kinard played 46 minutes and shot 19-of-37 from the floor including 13-of-24 on three-pointers in the contest. She recorded seven rebound in the contest.
