BEAUMONT, Texas – With the 2025-26 Southland Conference schedule in full swing, Lamar will once again be hosting the LU Basketball Coaches Radio Show featuring men's head coach Alvin Brooks and women's head coach Aqua Franklin.
 
The show will begin Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 5 Under Golf Center (on College Street). It will be broadcast live every week on Newstalk 560 KLVI and streamed live on KLVI.com. The 2025-26 campaign marks the fifth consecutive season that Big Red has hosted the show at 5 Under.
 
The LU men advanced to the Southland championship game last season and have improved every year under Brooks, while the women's team has advanced to the tournament semifinals in each of the past three seasons with two championship games appearances.
 
The men are currently tied for fifth in the standings while the women's team heads to McNeese amidst a logjam of six schools with just one conference loss atop the standings.
