MOBILE, Ala. - The Lamar women's golf team sits in a tie for sixth place midway through the second round of the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational at the Azalea City Golf Course Monday.
The Lady Cardinals fired an opening round of 315 and were playing their second round when afternoon showers, lightning and darkness suspended play until Tuesday morning.
Florida International was the first-round leader at 301, followed by Troy at 302, Stetson at 303, Memphis at 309 and Winthrop at 310. Samford was tied with Lamar for sixth.
Individually, Lamar saw Stine Pedersen shoot a 5-over-par 77, which placed her in a tie for 16th. Fabienne Haremza went out in 41 before coming home with a team-low 37 and is tied for 24th at 78. Ashley Thorpe also recorded a sub-80 round with a 79, while Julie Aime and Linda Persson signed for an 81 and 84, respectively.
Second-round play will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, followed by the final round.
