BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University wraps up the regular season by hosting the two-day Cardinal Challenge on Monday and Tuesday, March 30–31, at Beaumont Country Club.

The Cardinals last competed at the Riverbend Intercollegiate in Sugar Land on March 10, finishing 13th among 16 teams.

LEADING THE WAY

Brooke Frerichs leads the Cardinals with a 76.0 stroke average over 18 rounds while Kamaya Moodliar ranks second on the team at 76.7 across 24 rounds.

She leads the squad with five rounds of par or better and owns a 75.6 stroke average during the spring season.

Karolina Krasova ranks third on the team with a 76.6 stroke average in 24 rounds.

Krasova and Frerichs have each notched two top 15 finishes, with Krasova tying for 11th at the Islanders Classic Invitational in Corpus Christi and Frerichs tying for 12th at the Terrier Intercollegiate during the fall in Spartanburg, S.C.

CARDINAL CHALLENGE

LU has won the event 11 times since 1992, including three consecutive titles from 2022-2024.

Last spring, the Cardinals finished third among seven teams, with Krasova tying for sixth.

This year's Cardinal Challenge features five teams, marking the smallest field since 2024.

The field includes Blinn College, Midwestern State, Western Illinois, Lamar and Incarnate Word.

The tournament will be contested at Beaumont Country Club, a par-72 course measuring 6,094 yards.

Beaumont Country Club has served as the host site for the Cardinal Challenge since the 2007 season.
