SUGAR LAND, Texas — After Day 1 of the Riverbend Intercollegiate, the Lamar University women's golf team sits in 13th place following Monday's opening two rounds at Riverbend Country Club.
The Cardinals posted a 36‑hole total of 615 (308–307), finishing just four strokes outside the top 10.
LU recorded eight birdies and 50 pars in the first round.
Brooke Frerichs played the back nine at even par, carding one birdie and seven pars, including six straight pars to close the round.
Frerichs, Montana Di Leo and
Aaniyah Bhola each finished the round with two birdies, with both of Bhola's coming on the back nine.
Di Leo closed her opening round with five consecutive pars.
In the afternoon,
Amanda Davidsson added two birdies in the second round and finished the day with three total.
Di Leo opened the back nine with six straight pars while Davidsson posted five pars and a birdie during the same stretch.
Frerichs began her second round with four pars and a birdie.
As a team, the Cardinals combined for 14 pars and one birdie over the first three holes of the second round.
Louisville leads the tournament with a two‑round total of 578 (284–294), holding a seven‑stroke advantage over Houston Christian.
Tarleton State's Louise Depadt tops the individual leaderboard at 139 (67–72), two strokes ahead of Austin Peay's Jillian Breedlove.
