Lamar Takes Sixth at Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate

VICTORIA, Texas - The Lamar women's golf team struggled on the final day of the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate and shot a 336 for a 952 total to finish in sixth place at the Victoria Country Club.

Stine Pedersen collected a top-15 finish with her 234 score which placed her tied for 14th. Ashley Thorpe posted the low round of the day for the Lady Cardinals with an 83 that put her three-round total at 240, tied for 28th.

Julie Aime and Linda Persson each shot 84 on Monday. Aime tied for 40th at 242 and Persson was tied for 44th at 243. Lauren Van Gerven also tied for 44th after her final round of 85.

Texas State won the tournament with a 913 by three strokes over Oklahoma, who shot 916. Sam Houston State was third at 938, with Akron fourth at 941 and Arkansas State just ahead of LU at 951.

Lamar will remain on the road for the Carmel Intercollegiate, which is hosted by Drake and set to begin on Thursday in Carmel, Calif.
