MURRELLS INLET, S.C. -- The Lamar men's golf team sits in eighth place after shooting a 36-hole total of 608 at the TPC of Myrtle Beach Sunday.
The Cardinals shot 301 in the morning round and were in a tie for sixth before a second round 307 dropped them two spots.
Hugues Joannes is tied for 13th with rounds of 76-72 for a 148 score. He led the Cardinals with five birdies on Sunday, including three during his even-par second round. Xavier Feyaerts is tied for 30th at 7-over-par with a 72-79--1751 total.
Leroux Ferriera is tied for 46th following rounds of 75-79 for a 154 score. Kevin Hesbois went 79-77 and is tied for 55th with a 156 total. Justin Harding is tied for 67th at 78-82--160. Harding had one of the three eagles on the par-5, 547-yard second hole.
The course played to a 76.96 stroke average for the 90-man field. Lamar's average was 76.90.
East Tennessee State leads the very strong 14-team field with a 587, followed by Pepperdine at 590, Wake Forest at 591 and North Carolina State and tourney-host Coastal Carolina tied for fifth at 597.
11 of the 14 participating schools are among the top-50 in the Golfstat Ratings.
Lamar will tee off on Monday's final round from 8-8:36 a.m. Eastern time and be paired with Augusta State and UCLA.
