BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University wraps up the regular season at the two-day Tiger Intercollegiate, held Monday-Tuesday, April 6-7, at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo.
Each day begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The event serves as the Cardinals' final tune-up before the three-day Southland Conference Championship, scheduled for April 20-22 at Comanche Trace in Kerrville.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals placed 11th among 16 teams at the All-American Intercollegiate on March 17 in Humble.
David Schneider Jerez notched his fifth top 20 finish of the season, tying for 15th.
LEADING THE WAY
Schneider has been consistent, leading the team with a 71.4 stroke average across 27 rounds of competition.
He has recorded 16 rounds of par or better, including three top 10 finishes, and owns the team's best 54‑hole score with a 206 at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic in September.
Schneider posted a 70.6 stroke average during the fall and has continued that form with a team‑low 72.1 average this spring.
Nathan Woodham ranks second on the team with a 72.7 stroke average and 14 rounds of par or better.
He also turned in the top finish of the season for LU, tying for fourth at the Border Olympics in February.
Matthew Bramford sits third on the team with a 73.4 stroke average and 11 rounds of par or better.
Bramford, along with
Rory Bennet, recorded a top 10 finish earlier this season, tying for eighth at the Golden Nugget Invitational on March 3.
TIGER INTERCOLLEGIATE
The Tiger Intercollegiate will be contested at The Club at Old Hawthorne, a par‑70 course measuring 7,158 yards.
The facility has served as the home course for the University of Missouri since 2006 and previously hosted the 2014 NCAA Columbia Regional.
The 19‑team field includes Illinois State, Oral Roberts, Saint Mary's College, UT Rio Grande Valley, Wichita State, Central Arkansas, Kansas, Drake, Xavier, Missouri State, Tarleton State, Lamar, Iowa
State, UTSA, Central Michigan, Missouri, South Dakota State, Nebraska and the University of South Dakota.
