BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University men's golf turns its focus to the All-American Intercollegiate, set for Monday–Tuesday (March 16-17) at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble.
Both days of competition will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals fired a 16-under 272 in the second round to surge into the top 10, ultimately finishing seventh in the 16‑team field at the Louisiana Classics.
David Schneider Jerez posted a new season‑low round with an impressive 63 during the second round while
Filip Widepalm added a season‑best 67 in the same round.
LEADING THE WAY
Schneider leads the Cardinals with a 71.0 stroke average and has produced 16 rounds of par or better across 24 rounds this season.
He has also tallied three top‑10 finishes, four top‑20 finishes, and owns the team's best 54‑hole score of the season (206).
After posting a 70.6 stroke average in the fall, Schneider has continued his strong play this spring with a 71.3 scoring average.
Nathan Woodham ranks second on the squad with a 72.0 stroke average and has recorded 14 rounds of par or better.
Matthew Bramford is third in scoring with a 72.8 stroke average and 11 rounds of par or better.
ALL-AMERICAN INTERCOLLEGIATE
LU has competed in the All-American Intercollegiate in nine of the last 10 seasons since 2017.
The Cardinals finished tied for 10th in last year's 16‑team field.
This year's event will be played on the Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston, a par‑72 layout measuring 7,422 yards.
The 2026 field includes Houston, Rice, Abilene Christian, Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Houston Christian, Lamar, Nebraska, North Texas, Odessa College, Sam Houston, Tarleton State, Texas State, UL Monroe, UT Arlington, and UT Rio Grande Valley.
LSU will compete in the individual tournament only.
