HUMBLE, Texas — During the final round of the All-American Intercollegiate, Lamar University tallied 18 birdies to finish 11th out of 16 teams at the Golf Club of Houston on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cardinals posted a three‑round total of 921 (314‑310‑297).
Filip Widepalm highlighted the round with a 2‑under‑par 70, recording five birdies, including four on the front nine.
Widepalm made the turn at three under par before closing with six pars and a birdie on the back nine.
David Schneider Jerez and
Nathan Woodham each played the front nine at one under par, combining for four birdies, while
Matthew Bramford shot even par on the front with two birdies and five pars.
Schneider posted his fifth top 20 finish.
Overall, Lamar recorded 12 of its 18 birdies on the front nine and finished the round with 47 pars.
No. 4 Arkansas captured the team title with a two‑day total of 882 (298‑299‑285), finishing 12 strokes ahead of second‑place Eastern Michigan.
Alvaro Pastor of Tarleton State claimed individual medalist honors with a three‑round score of 214 (77‑66‑71), five shots clear of Arkansas' Erich Fortlage.
