HUMBLE, Texas — Battling cold and windy conditions, Lamar University finished tied for ninth after Day 1 of the All-American Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Houston on Monday.
The Cardinals posted a two-round total of 624 (314–310), tying Texas State and sitting two strokes behind eighth-place UL Monroe.
Lamar recorded nine birdies and 47 pars in the opening round, with six birdies coming on the back nine.

Nathan Woodham and
Rory Bennet each carded three birdies.
Schneider played the back nine at even par, recording five pars and two birdies while Bramford posted six consecutive pars.
Bennet made all three of his birdies on the back nine.
The Cardinals matched their first-round totals in the second round with nine birdies and 47 pars.
Schneider again played the back nine at even par and finished the round with four birdies overall.
Schneider is currently tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Bramford and Woodham each recorded two birdies while Bennet added a birdie on the 15th hole.
Filip Widepalm finished the round with 12 pars, including eight on the back nine.
Arkansas, the nation's fourth-ranked team, leads the field with a two-round total of 597 (298–299), holding a two-stroke advantage over Eastern Michigan.
Tarleton State's Alvaro Pastor leads the individual standings at 143 (77–66), five strokes ahead of Eastern Michigan's Robby Turnbull.
