LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Lamar men's golf team currently sits in sixth place following the first two rounds of the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic, played at Chenal Country Club Monday.
Lamar found itself in seventh place following a 299 in the morning round before slicing six strokes off for a 293 and to move into sixth place with a 592 total.
The Cards were led by Hugues Joannes who put himself in a tie for tenth following a 73-72--145 score. Leroux Ferriera, Justin Harding and Kevin Hesbois are all tied for 30th at 149, while Xavier Feyaerts is tied for 70th at 79-77-156. Harding's second round 71 was the low score for Lamar on the day and one of just 19 sub-par rounds among the 192 rounds contested.
Tourney host Arkansas-Little Rock is in first at 579, followed by Texas State at 581, Sam Houston State at 585, Southeastern Louisiana and Central Arkansas at 586 and Lamar. The 18-team field features the top six Southland Conference schools according to the latest Golfstat statistical ratings.
The final round will begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
