Five Cardinals named WGCA All-American scholars

BEAUMONT, Texas — Five Lamar University golfers were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, the organization announced Monday.

Aaniyah Bhola, Montana Di Leo, Amanda Davidsson, Karolina Krasova and Kamaya Moodliar were among 1,551 golfers recognized nationwide.

To earn the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's scheduled rounds during the academic year.

Lamar women's golf has had a student-athlete earn WGCA honors in each of the past four seasons, dating back to 2022-23.

Krasova, a senior majoring in studio art photography, compiled a 3.69 GPA while posting a 77.0 scoring average across 10 tournaments and 30 rounds.

She recorded one round of par or better, carding an even-par 72 in the final round of the Islanders Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 17.

Krasova was one of two Cardinals to post a top 10 finish during the season, tying for third at the Cardinal Challenge on March 31.

She recorded a 76.5 scoring average during the fall and posted her best 54-hole total of 224 at The Judson on Oct. 28. Krasova also earned Dean's List and President's List honors.

Moodliar was one of Lamar's top performers, recording the team's second-best scoring average at 76.9 over 10 tournaments and 30 rounds.

She led the Cardinals with five rounds of par or better and matched the team's low round of the season with a 3-under-par 69 in the second round of the Wolverine Invitational.

Moodliar also posted Lamar's best 54-hole score of the season, firing a 215 to tie for sixth at the West Texas Classic on March 3.

She recorded five top 20 finishes, tied for the team's lowest spring scoring average at 76.3 and earned President's List honors while maintaining a 4.0 GPA as an economics major.

Di Leo, a management major from Orange, maintained a 4.0 GPA while competing in six spring tournaments.

She posted a 78.7 scoring average over 18 rounds and recorded a season-low round of 73 in the opening round of the West Texas Classic.

Di Leo also carded her best 54-hole total of 226 at the Southland Conference tournament, where she tied for 20th.

Krasova, Moodliar and Di Leo were also named to the Southland Conference All-Academic team.

Bhola, a freshman majoring in general business, carried a 3.8 GPA while competing in 24 rounds.

She posted a 78.2 scoring average and fired a season-low 71 in the second round of the Terrier Intercollegiate on Oct. 14.

Bhola recorded her best 54-hole score of 231 in each of the final two tournaments of the season, the Cardinal Challenge and Southland Conference tournament.

Her best finish of the year came at the Cardinal Challenge, where she placed 11th.

Davidsson, a management major from Sövde, Sweden, earned President's List honors with a 3.6 GPA.

She posted a 79.6 scoring average over 24 rounds and carded a season-low 72 during the second round of the West Texas Classic.

Davidsson also recorded her best 54-hole score of 227 at the event. Her top finish came at the Cardinal Challenge, where she tied for 23rd.
