The Cardinals posted a team score of 303, matching Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
LU sits three strokes behind third-place Incarnate Word.
Houston Christian leads the field with an eight-stroke advantage over second-place UT Rio Grande Valley.
Brooke Frerichs opened the round strong, making three birdies and four pars to finish the front nine at one-under.
Frerichs recorded back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes.
The Cardinals totaled nine birdies on the day, with six coming on the front nine.
Kamaya Moodliar added two birdies and four pars on the front side and finished the round with three birdies overall.
Montana Di Leo closed the front nine with a birdie, then carded six pars and another birdie on the back nine.
Aaniyah Bhola contributed a birdie on the 16th hole.
LU finished the round with 51 pars, including 26 on the back nine.
Frerichs and Di Leo both sit inside the top 15 individually, finishing the day in 12th and 15th place, respectively.
Houston Christian's Sara Pihlajamaki leads the individual leaderboard after shooting a 69, holding a one-stroke advantage over teammate Alyssa Stewart.
