BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University competes in the three‑day Southland Conference tournament at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos from Monday through Wednesday, April 13-15.
First and second round action are slated to begin at 12 p.m. while the final round starts at 7:40 a.m.
The final round will also be broadcast on
ESPN+ from the 18th hole.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals finished third out of five teams at the two-day Cardinal Challenge in Beaumont.
LU posted the second-lowest score of the final round to climb into third place, edging Blinn College by one stroke.
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
Brooke Frerichs leads the Cardinals with a 76.2 stroke average over 21 rounds.
Frerichs and
Karolina Krasova have each paced the team this spring, posting identical 77.0 stroke averages.
Krasova ranks second overall with a 76.8 stroke average through 27 rounds and recorded the team's best finish of the season, tying for third at the Cardinal Challenge.
Kamaya Moodliar leads the team with five rounds at par or better and owns one of the Cardinals' two top 10 finishes, tying for sixth at the West Texas Classic in Abilene.
Moodliar also recorded the team's best 54‑hole score, shooting a 215 at the West Texas Classic.
Frerichs and Moodliar share the team's lowest single‑round score, each carding a 69 during the fall Wolverine Invitational.
COMPETING IN THE POSTSEASON
In 2025, the Cardinals sat in second place after the opening round of the Southland Conference tournament, with two players tied for fifth.
LU remained among the top five following the second round, tied for fourth, before slipping to eighth on the final day.
A&M-Corpus Christi captured the team title last spring, finishing 17 strokes ahead of East Texas A&M.
The Cardinals have claimed seven team titles and four individual titles since 2002.
LU's most recent team championship came in 2016, capping a run of four consecutive titles.
Wenny Chang, a two‑time Southland Conference Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016, earned the program's most recent individual title.
This is the second straight year the tournament is being held at Kissing Tree Golf Club, which measures from 4,955 to 6,522 yards and plays as a par 72.
