BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University has been accepted to the Women's National Invitation Tournament as an automatic qualifier after going 20-10 on the year and finishing second overall in the Southland Conference (17-5). This will mark the Cardinals' first trip to the WNIT since 2019 and the second national postseason tournament appearance in the last three years.

The Cardinals recorded their fourth-straight 20-win season for the first time in program history, which also made head coach Aqua Franklin the first LU coach to achieve this milestone. Coach Franklin also moved up to second all-time in victories (120), trailing only Larry Tidwell (128). Kamryn Wilson earned SLC second team honors after averaging 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while having 41 steals, dishing out 51 assists, and blocking four shots.
