BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University released its 2026-27 women's basketball schedule Thursday, head coach Aqua Franklin announced. The Cardinals will play 31 games, including 15 at the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center and will also have road matchups against a pair of Texas Power 4 schools.
 
Fans will get their first look at the Cardinals on Oct. 28 when Lamar hosts North American in an exhibition contest. LU opens the regular season at home against Louisiana Christian (Nov. 2). Following the first road game at UT Arlington (Nov. 5), the Cardinals will make the trip to Lubbock to meet with Texas Tech (Nov. 9) and will also head to College Station to play Texas A&M (Nov. 16). LU's other home games for November are with Arlington Baptist (Nov. 12) and Texas State (Nov. 20).
 
For Thanksgiving break, the Cardinals will compete in the Rice Invitational in Houston with two games against Illinois Chicago (Nov. 25) and the Owls (Nov. 27).
 
The Southland Conference season starts in December as the Cardinals open league play against East Texas A&M (Dec. 3) in Beaumont. LU will also host Prairie View A&M (Dec. 9) in its final non-conference game before welcoming Northwestern State (Dec. 21) and Southeastern Louisiana (Dec. 31). The Cardinals will also travel to South Texas for league road games against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Dec. 15) and UT Rio Grande Valley (Dec. 17).
 
The Cardinals will ring in the new year by heading across the border to Lake Charles to meet with McNeese (Jan. 2), which will return to Beaumont for the rematch on Jan. 21. After heading west to take on Houston Christian (Jan. 7) and UIW (Jan. 9), Big Red hosts LSU New Orleans (Jan. 14) and Nicholls (Jan. 16) before closing out the month on the road to finish its regular season series with SLU (Jan. 23), NSU (Jan. 28) and ETAMU (Jan. 30).
 
LU opens both February and ends the regular season against the defending conference tournament champion Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks, hosting Feb. 6 before heading to Nacogdoches on Mar. 1. The last four home games are against UTRGV (Feb. 1), Corpus Christi (Feb. 13), HCU (Feb. 25th) and UIW (Feb. 27). The Cardinals' penultimate road trip sees them in South Louisiana for meetings with Nicholls (Feb. 18) and New Orleans (Feb. 20).
 
The 2027 SLC tournament is scheduled for March 8-11 at the Townsley Law Arena on the McNeese campus.
