BEAUMONT, Texas – Saturday will see a clash of No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the Southland Conference standings with McNeese and Lamar University stepping on the court at the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center. Round two of this season's Battle of the Border starts at 3:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast on Newstalk 560 KLVI.

LU (13-6, 10-2 SLC) overcame a tough shooting night (36.4) to defeat Southeastern Louisiana, 57-44 in Hammond, La. Thursday. The Cardinals were led by
R'Mani Taylor, who scored nine points while both
Jacei Denley and
Solenne Olenga recorded eight.
WELCOME TO THE CHISOM BOARDING SCHOOL
Chisom Oguego grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass, which would lead to 21 second-chance points for the Cardinals. Over the last three games, Oguego has averaged close to 11 rebounds per game and finds herself in the top 25 of the conference rankings with 4.9 rpg.
HOMEWORK IS REALLY COOL
The Cardinals enter Saturday as the only undefeated team at home in the conference (9-0) and will look to make it a second straight season they started 10-0 at Neches Arena. Last season, LU won the first 11 games before a loss. Currently on an 11-game winning streak, the Cardinals have won 33 of the previous 35 games at home.
LAST TIME VS. McNEESE
The Cardinals saw a 17-game winning streak against McNeese come to an end, 65-57 in Lake Charles in the last meeting between the two sides.

T'Aaliyah Miner (10) combined for 40 points in the loss. LU now holds a 45-44 record all-time against the Cowgirls.
ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
The Cowgirls (17-4, 11-1 SLC) pulled out a 70-64 overtime win over Stephen F. Austin Thursday to stretch their win streak to a conference-best 10 games. Dakota Howard was one of four Cowgirls to score in double figures as she finished with a game-high 20 points. McNeese is allowing 51.5 points per game on defense, which is second in the nation behind defending national champion UCONN (50.5 ppg).
