Solenne Olenga Earns College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honor

BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University junior Solenne Olenga has been honored as a member of the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Basketball team for her work in the classroom.
 
This honor is awarded to student-athletes in all four divisions — NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA — for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. To be a member of the Academic All-District and All-American teams, student-athletes must 1) be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, 2) maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and 3) must have competed in at least 90 percent of the team's competitions.
 
Olenga (Lubumbashi, DR Congo) accumulated a 3.57 GPA as a leadership studies major. She appeared in all 31 games while starting 18. Olenga led the Cardinals with 127 rebounds (5.8 rpg), was second in blocked shots (17), averaged seven points per game and recorded 28 steals. She totaled four double-doubles, including a season-high 15 points and 14 rebounds against Nicholls (Feb. 19).
 
The Cardinals ended the season 20-11 and were second in the Southland Conference standings at 17-5. They reached the semifinals of the Southland Conference tournament and qualified for the WNIT.
