BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University women's golf begins the fall portion of the 2025-2026 season at the two-day Wolverine Invitational Monday-Tuesday at TalonsCove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
RECAPPING LAST SEASON
The Cardinals were led by
Karolina Krasova who posted the best scoring average while also recording four top 10 finishes in 34 rounds.
Brooke Frerichs ranked second on the team in scoring average while she also recorded three top 20 finishes.
LU finished eighth at the Southland Conference tournament.
The Cardinals had two third place finishes during the regular season at the Islander Classic and Cardinal Challenge.
ROSTER OUTLOOK
LU returns five upperclassmen to the roster under head coach
Janell O'Connor, who enters her sixth season.
There were also two new additions to the roster.
Aaniyah Bhola, who hails from Houston, recorded a scoring average of 76 while also posting second-place finishes at several tournaments including the 2023 DFW Fall Kickoff.
Kamaya Moodliar, a native of Ballito, South Africa, was 12th in South Africa's GolfRSA Junior rankings with a scoring average of 76.5.
She also placed first at several tournaments in 2024 including the South African Woman's Masters.
WOLVERINE INVITATIONAL
This is the fourth straight season the Cardinals are competing at a Utah Valley-hosted tournament.
LU finished eighth at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational in 2024.
Utah Valley is hosting the tourney at TalonsCove Golf Club for the third straight season.
The course opened in 2003, and it measures at 7,096 yards as a par 72, 18-hole course.
UC Irvine won the competition last fall with a six-stroke lead over UC Riverside.
Sofia Vargas of UC Riverside finished atop the individual leaderboard with a one-stroke lead after finishing 10-under-par.
Tee time is at 8 a.m. each day.
This year's tournament field includes Weber State, Cal State Bakersfield, Idaho State, Cal State Northridge, Southern Utah, Wyoming, Utah Tech, Westminster and Utah Valley.
