BARTLESVILLE, Okla. —
Kamaya Moodliar highlighted the final round of the Lady Clerico on Tuesday by shooting two-under-par (70) with four birdies.
The Lamar University women's golf team had a strong finish to place ninth out of 12 competitive teams with a two-day total score of 914 (309-308-297).
LU finished the day with 11 birdies and 54 pars.
"We finished strong today in a good field," said head coach
Janell O'Connor. "They fought better today to finish on a high note.
"We have a couple days to rest and recover and then we will be back at it getting ready for South Carolina."
Moodliar made three birdies on the back nine while she shot even-par on the front nine with one birdie and seven pars.
Aaniyah Bhola and
Brooke Frerichs both finished the front nine at even-par.
Frerichs made three straight birdies on the seventh, eighth and ninth holes to end the front nine.
The Cardinals made seven birdies on the front nine.
Amanda Davidsson made three birdies which includes back-to-back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes.
Karolina Krasova began her day making five straight pars.
Southern Mississippi climbed up to first place and held on to win the tournament with a score of 861 (292-290-279), holding off Abilene Christian by 11 strokes.
Abilene Christian's Ryann Honea (67-70-68—205) finished first atop the individual leaderboard with a five-stroke lead over Northern Colorado's Timbre Shehee.
