BEAUMONT, Texas — On Tuesday afternoon, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced the recipients of its 2024-25 Platform Golf Team Academic Award and Presidents Special Recognition honor.
Lamar University men's golf was one of 129 programs to earn the Presidents Special Recognition for having a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
All in all, a total of 292 programs from six different divisions earned the Platform Golf Team Academic Award.
LU was one of three teams from the state of Texas to receive the special recognition.
The Cardinals have earned team academic awards from the GCAA the last three straight seasons.
Rory Bennett and
Nathan Woodham were each named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA for having a GPA of 3.2 or better along with a season stroke average under 76.0.
