FRISCO, Texas — David Schneider Jerez was named Southland Conference Co-Golfer of the Month, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

The honor marks his second career Golfer of the Month recognition after previously earning the award in October 2023.

He leads the team with a 71.8 stroke average across 30 rounds of competition while also posting a team-best 16 rounds at par or better.

Schneider has recorded three top 10 finishes and five top 20 finishes on the season.

In the fall, Schneider led the team with a 70.6 stroke average and has continued that consistency in the spring, posting a team-best 72.5 stroke average.

Schneider recorded three top 20 finishes in March, highlighted by a tie for fifth at the Golden Nugget Invitational in Lake Charles, La.

He finished the tournament with a three-round total of 207, shooting rounds of 68-71-68 while finishing three-under-par.

Schneider posted a bogey-free first round with four birdies and 14 pars, finishing the event with 13 birdies overall.

His performance helped the Cardinals capture their first regular-season tournament victory since 2016.

The team also set a new 54-hole tournament record with a score of 823, surpassing the previous mark of 825 set in 2007.

At the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, Schneider fired his lowest round of the season, shooting a 63 (-9) during the second round.

He recorded eight birdies, one eagle and eight pars, including a seven-under-par front nine featuring five birdies and an eagle. He finished tied for 19th at the event.

Schneider also tied for 15th at the All-American Intercollegiate in Humble, posting a three-round total of 226 (75-76-75) and making 10 birdies during the tournament.
