LU trio named to WGCA All-American Scholar team

BEAUMONT, Texas — Karolina Krasova, Amanda Davidsson and Lucy Bedford were three of the 1,499 individuals that were recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association by being named to the All-American Scholar Team, the association announced in a release on Monday.

The WGCA recognized players from 403 programs across the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA levels.

To be selected to the team a student-athlete must have an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher while playing in 50 percent of the team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.

Lastly, a student-athlete must be on the team's roster through the conclusion of the season.

Krasova led the Cardinals with 34 rounds played and 2,474 strokes. She had four top 10 finishes while shooting a team-best low round score of 70 on two occasions at the Terrier Intercollegiate and Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational.

Her fifth-place finish at the Terrier Intercollegiate was a team best as she ended up tallying a three-round total of 223.

Krasova, a native of Ricany, Czech Republic, sports a 3.63 GPA while majoring in studio art photography. Krasova has been recognized for the third straight season as a WGCA All-American Scholar.

Bedford played in 29 rounds tallying 2,172 strokes. She carded a season low round score of 72 during the second round of play at the UTA Maverick Classic in the fall.

She also recorded her best finish at the Maverick Classic, placing 22nd.

The Brisbane, Australia, native is majoring in exercise science while maintaining a 3.74 GPA. Bedford was also named to the All-American Scholar Team during the 2023-24 season.

Davidsson hails from Savde, Sweden, as she sports a 3.80 GPA while majoring in management.

She played in 27 rounds while recording 2,052 strokes. Her season low round score of 75 came during the opening round of the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational.

The LU women's golf team has had a player recognized by the WGCA six of the last seven seasons.
