SAN MARCOS, Texas — Entering the second round of the Southland Conference tournament Tuesday afternoon at Kissing Tree Golf Club, Lamar University was five shots behind first place Augusta.
The Cardinals are now tied for fourth place with Houston Christian, 16 shots out of first, after shooting a total score of 302 for the round.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took over the top spot after carding a total score of 283 to sit 10 shots ahead of second place Augusta.
Sara Hagglund finished the front nine at one-under-par as she made two birdies. She tallied a score of 73 for the round. Hagglund led LU with three birdies.
Karolina Krasova shot even-par on the front nine with one birdie and seven pars.
Krasova and
Lucy Bedford made five consecutive pars to end the front nine.
LU had nine birdies in the second round, five coming on the back nine.
