BRYAN, Texas —
David Schneider Jerez recorded a solid performance in the final round of The Aggie Invitational on Sunday at the Traditions Club.
Jerez shot three-under-par (69) to help Lamar University finish seventh in a competitive field.
The Cardinals shot a total score of 906 (301-310-295), nine shots behind sixth-place New Mexico State.
Jerez made three consecutive birdies on the 13th, 14th and 15th holes to finish with five birdies for the day.
LU made 12 birdies in the final round. As a team, the Cards finished fifth at the tournament with 35 birdies and fifth in pars with 160.
Rory Bennet finished in the top 25 after carding a final round score of 74. Jerez jumped up 24 spots after carding the lowest score of the final round.
Texas A&M, the No. 19 team in the country, finished in first place with a nine-shot lead over No. 6 Oklahoma.
Phichaksn Maichon of Texas A&M won the individual title with a five-shot lead over UL Lafayette's Malan Potgieter.
