Previously
The Cardinals earned a 69-60 Senior Day victory over McNeese at the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center to close out their home record at 13-1. Akasha Davis recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while T'Aaliyah Miner (13 points, 10 rebounds) notched her first career double-double. Jacei Denley (16) and Sabria Dean (14) combined to score 30 points, with the latter leading everyone with four steals in her final home game.

Rebounding Queen
Davis set the school's all-time rebounding record with 11 rebounds Saturday in the win over McNeese. With 1,058 rebounds, she moved past Cardinals Hall of Honor member Carolyn Ford (1.052).

Milestone Watch - Aqua Franklin
Head coach Aqua Franklin needs one more win to pick up 100 in her career. This would make her the fourth coach in Cardinals' history with 100 victories at LU. The previous three head coaches to achieve this mark were Pat Park  (109), Larry Tidwell (128), and Robin Harmony (115).

Got The Second Seed Locked Up
LU's win over McNeese means it will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SLC tournament. The Cardinals are a half-game up on Stephen F. Austin, which finished its season Saturday. Even with a loss on Wednesday, Big Red holds the tiebreaker over the Ladyjacks due to the records against seventh-seed Nicholls. LU swept the Colonels while the Ladyjacks dropped one game.

Last Time vs. The Islanders
The Cardinals defeated the Islanders 63-57. Sabria Dean and Jacei Denley each tallied 15-point games to lead LU while Akasha Davis pitched in 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Cardinals.

About the Islanders
The Islanders ended SLU's 19-game win streak and undefeated conference record with a 54-52 in Corpus Christi. Tymberlin Criswell led the way with 14 points while Paige Allen and Nabaweeyah McGill tallied 10 points. The Cardinals have won six of their last seven games in Corpus Christi, including last season's 63-57 win.

The Cardinals will begin their conference tournament run Wednesday, Mar. 12th at 1 p.m. The game will take place at the Legacy Center in Lake Charles, La., and be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast on Newstalk 560 KLVI.
