Cardinals tied for 10th at Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — In a competitive field, the Lamar University Cardinals wrapped up Day 1 of the Redhawk Invitational tied for 10th place on Monday at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

The Cardinals shot the total score of 592 (295-297) to finish tied alongside Creighton.

David Schneider Jerez shot one-over-par (72) in round two with four birdies. LU finished with nine birdies in the round.

Nathan Woodham tallied back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th holes during the second round.

Jerez made an eagle in round one on the 12th hole as he finished even-par (71). LU had 10 birdies in the opening round to finish with 19 for the day.

Jerez is tied for 13th on the individual leaderboard.

George Mason's Vaugn McMeans has a one-shot lead (70-69=139) in first over UC Riverside's Hartej Grewal.

Utah Tech and St. Thomas (Minn.) are tied for first with a total score of 577. The leaders are three shots ahead of George Mason in third.

OU SPRING INDY

ARDMORE, Okla — Truls Andersson, Luc Gavagnin and Fermin Martinez were all in competition at the Spring Indy Monday afternoon at Dornick Hills Country Club.

A total of 34 players competed in the tournament.

Martinez led the Cards with a total of score of 147 (76-71) while Andersson shot the scores of 79-75 (154).

Gavagnin carded a collective score of 159 (79-80).
