Making Over Half More Times Than It Has
Thursday's game featured the 31st and 32nd quarters in which the Cardinals converted 50 percent or better from the field. This was also the 17th contest this season LU has done this, and it posts a record of 14-3 in those games.
We Clinched
By clinching a postseason spot Thursday, LU will be making its 18th appearance all-time in the SLC tournament. Excluding 2020 due to COVID-19 and 2022, when they were in the Western Athletic Conference, the last time the Cardinals missed the SLC tournament was in 2007.
Last Time vs. ETAMU
The Cardinals put together an 83-65 win over the Lions in the last meeting between the two teams. Dean was one of four Cardinals to score in double figures as she had 23 points. Jacei Denley (17), Akasha Davis (16) and Weems (12) combined for 45 points in the victory. Davis also added 16 rebounds to record a double-double.
The Lions Right Now
Tied for ninth in the SLC standings, ETAMU recently fell to Stephen F. Austin, 71-55. Jasmine Payne posted 17 points to lead the Lions while Cora Horvath was one point shy of a double-double (10 rebounds). The Lions are fourth in the conference with 64.6 points per game.
