SPARTANBURG, S.C. — On the final day of the Terrier Intercollegiate, the Lamar University women's golf team held on for a seventh-place finish Tuesday afternoon at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
The Cardinals finished with the total score of 942 (318-308-316). LU finished eight strokes ahead of Winthrop.
Brooke Frerichs placed within the top 15, tying for 12th overall. Frerichs made seven straight pars on the back nine, 11 for the day.
She also had a birdie on the fifth hole.
Aaniyah Bhola made two birdies on the back nine at the 11th and 16th holes. She strung together six pars including a stretch where she made four in a row.
LU made 47 pars in the final round, 27 came during the back nine. The Cardinals also tallied five birdies.
Amanda Davidsson birdied the fourth hole while
Kamaya Moodliar made a birdie at the eighth hole.
East Tennessee State won the team title with a total score of 891 (295-298-298), holding a a six-stroke lead over tourney host Wofford.
Sophia Gambini of East Tennessee State and Appalachian State's Zoe Duval tied for the top spot on the individual leaderboard with a total score of 217.
