BEAUMONT, Texas — It's been three weeks since the Lamar University women's golf team was last in competition.
The Cardinals are back out on the course for the two-day Terrier Intercollegiate Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 13-14 at the Country Club of Spartanburg in South Carolina.
LAST TIME OUT
LU last competed at the two-day Lady Clerico in Bartlesville, Okla. The Cardinals finished ninth out of 12 teams.
Kamaya Moodliar tied for 28th after posting a total score of 225 (78-77-70). LU ended up finishing the final day of competition with 11 birdies and 54 pars.
Moodliar tallied four birdies during the final round.
LEADING THE WAY
Moodliar has burst out onto the scene leading the Cardinals with a stroke average of 73.8.
Brooke Frerichs and Moodliar both recorded the best low round score (69) of the season at the Wolverine Invitational.
Moodliar has already recorded three rounds of par or better in six rounds of play. She also posted a top 20 finish at the Wolverine Invitational.
TERRIER INTERCOLLEGIATE
This is the third straight year that LU will be competing at Wofford's Terrier Intercollegiate.
LU's best finish came during the 2023 season when it placed sixth overall.
Last fall the Cardinals finished ninth while
Karolina Krasova posted a three-round total of 223 to place fifth on the individual leaderboard.
The Country Club of Spartanburg was founded in 1908. The par 72, 18-hole private course measures out at 6,648 yards.
Appalachian State, Wofford, Gardner-Webb, The Citadel, Queens University of Charlotte, East Tennessee State, Presbyterian College, Winthrop, University of North Carolina Asheville, Elon, South Carolina Upstate, Western Carolina and Indiana University Indianapolis make up 13 of the 14 teams in competition.
