CHOUDRANT, La. - The Lamar University men's golf team opened its 2024-25 campaign in the first round of the Argent Financial Classic in Choudrant, La. Through 18 holes of play, the Cardinals are tied for eighth with a score of 292.
With a birdie on the 17th hole, Nathan Woodham sits in 19th place with an even-par 72, putting him in 19th place. Both Rory Bennet and David Schneider Jerez are tied for 29th shooting a one-over-par 73. In his first tournament appearance with LU, Matthew Bramford shot a two-over-par 74 to sit in 45th. Fermin Martinez is tied for 83rd after his first round of 78.Â
The second round of the tournament is set for a 7:30 a.m., start, but the Cardinals will tee-off at 10:20 a.m, and will be paired up with Little Rock and Middle Tennessee.Â
