ONEONTA, Ala. - Four members of the Lamar University men's golf team posted scores of par or better in the final round of the GMAC Invitational. This would help LU to its best round of the tournament and a final total of 874 (294-292-288) placing 11th overall.

David Schneider Jerez nailed four of his five birdies on the back nine and recorded his second 70 of the tournament. He finished tied for 14th with a season-best 211 (71-70-70).
Matthew Bramford surged his way up the leaderboard by posting a four-under 32 on the front nine, which featured four birdies and an eagle on the par 5 second. His back nine of 36 secured a new career-low round of 68 and a tie for 29th at 215 (74-73-68).
Fermin Martinez, competing as an individual, would make five birdies and finished an even-par 72 as did
Rory Bennet. Martinez placed in a tie for 54th with 222 (75-75-72) while Bennet (77-77-72) tied for 66th alongside teammate
Nathan Woodham (76-72-78) with 226.
Filip Widepalm rounded out the top 75 with his final total of 236 (73-82-81).
North Alabama and UL Monroe were co-champions of the tournament by shooting 834 each. Individually, UNA's Xing Luo put together a three-round total of 200 to win by two strokes over UL Monroe's Louis Anceaux and Louisiana Tech's Niilo Maki-Petaja.
The Cardinals are back in action next week as they will take part in Rice University's Bayou City Collegiate. The two-day tournament will start on Monday and end on Tuesday.
