CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Four members of the Lamar University women's golf team were announced as part of the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team. 
Lucy Bedford, 
Grace Connelly, 
Linnea Jerlebo and 
Karolina Krasova joined 1,493 other golfers from 411 total programs around the country.
 
For the four Cardinals to be recognized as All-American scholars, they had to have recorded an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and must have appeared in 50% of the team's competitive rounds throughout the season including the conference championship.
 
Bedford (Brisbane, Australia) posted a 3.70 GPA while majoring in exercise science. This past season saw her record an 81.9 stroke average in 26 rounds, which included a season-low of 73 at the Islander Classic. That round was instrumental in posting her best finish of the season in seventh finishing with 232 while she posted her best 54-hole score of 230 at the UTRGV Invitational (76-79-75).
 
Connelly (Cardiff, Wales), another exercise science major, achieved a 3.74 GPA. Competing in 23 rounds, she posted a stroke average of 79.0, which included a low round of 72 at the UTRGV Invitational. With one top-10 finish (9th; 231) at the Southland Conference Championships, Connelly posted her best 54-hole tournament at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational (73-76-75).
 
Jerlebo (Hofterup, Sweden) earned a perfect 4.0 while receiving a master's in business administration. Appearing in 29 rounds, she averaged 77.6 strokes per round, which included a 71 at the Terrier Intercollegiate. Jerlebo finished in the top 10 twice with sixth place in the Islander Classic (75-78-78=231) and the Cardinal Challenge (77-76-81=234) while her best three-round tournament was 222 in the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational and the UTRGV Invitational.
 
Krasova (Ricany, Czech Republic) recorded a 3.55 GPA in studio art photography. Krasova ended her season with a 76.8 stroke average and placed in the top 10 in the Islander Classic (8th; 76-78-79=233) and the Cardinal Challenge (4th; 79-71-79=229). Her best performance during the season was at the UTRGV Invitational (74-70-74=218) with her second round score and overall total being the lowest of the season.
