BEAUMONT, Texas - Head coach
Jessie Mudd and his Lamar University men's golf team have put together 10 tournaments against some of the nation's best throughout the 2023-24 campaign. With their season coming down to the Southland Conference Championships, the Cardinals will head to Comanche Trace in Kerrville, the host of this year's tournament.
The Comanche Trace is a par-72 course comprised of 7253 yards. Beginning on Monday, the Cardinals will be among a 10-team field with fellow SLC schools Augusta, Bryant, Francis Marion, Houston Christian, UIW, New Orleans, Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana, and Texas A&M-Commerce. This is a three-day tournament with 18 holes played on each day.
Last season, the Cardinals ended up third overall with 878 strokes (290-292-296) with
Carl Hardin and
Jacob Lindh leading the way by each tying for eighth with 218.
Guillermo Estivill recorded three 76's for a tie for 33rd at 228 while
David Schneider Jerez only posted two 74's for 148 in total.
The lineup for Coach Mudd will have Hardin,
Nathan Woodham,
Rory Bennet, Lindh, and Jerez. They will be paired alongside Augusta and UIW with their tee times being from 1:15 PM-1:51 PM on Monday.
