LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Lamar University was unable to climb up the leaderboard in the final round of the highly competitive Everett Buick GMC Classic Tuesday afternoon. With a final round score of 304, to go along with the rounds of 311 and 290 from Monday, the Cardinals finished 16th shooting 905.
On its home venue, Little Rock (287-273-278=838) won the tournament by 14 strokes over second place South Carolina. Troy's Jake Springer (73-66-65=204) edged out Ball State's Carter Smith by a stroke to claim the individual title.
Rory Bennet posted five birdies for the round and finished with a team low 70. His final total of 223 (75-78-70) resulted in a tie for 41st.
Nathan Woodham finished with 226 (79-66-81) to be tied for 57th while
Matthew Bramford (77-76-74=227) was one stroke behind in a tie for 60th.
Fermin Martinez walked off the course after shooting a final round 79, which tied him for 74th (81-71-7=230).
David Schneider Jerez ended his tournament in 90th with 242 (82-77-83) while
Filip Widepalm, competing as an individual, carded a 238 (84-76-78) to tie for 88th.
Big Red now turns its attention to the last tournament of the fall season tournament at the Kapolei Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii. The three-day event begins on Oct. 29th.
