Woodham, Martinez Post Career Lows in Everett Buick GMC's First Round

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Nathan Woodham and Fermin Martinez each posted career lows as the Lamar University men's golf team opened the Everett Buick GMC Classic Monday. While the second round was suspended due to darkness, the Cardinals were one of four teams to get two rounds in shooting a total of 602 (311-291), which has them in 14th.

As of now, host school Little Rock currently has a five stroke lead over South Carolina. 

Woodham (T33rd; 146) began his day with a 79 after the first 18 holes. With help from four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole in the second round, Woodham's 67 bested his previous mark of 68, which ironically took place at the same event a year ago. Martinez's first round saw him shoot 80. Thanks to seven birdies in the second round, Martinez (T57th; 151) shot 71, besting his previous mark of 72 from last season.

Matthew Bramford (77-76) and Rory Bennet (75-78) are each tied for 72nd with 153 while David Schneider Jerez sits in 89th with 159 (82-77). Competing as an individual, Filip Widepalm shot 84 in the first and was sitting on 68 with three holes to go when the round was suspended.
 

Widepalm and the rest of the field will conclude the second round Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., Once done, the final round will commence.
