Lindh’s Eagle Helps Get Him to Sixth; LU in Third After SLC Day 2

| By:
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Lamar University's men's golf team entered the second round in second position at the Southland Conference Tournament. While they would finish two strokes higher than yesterday (290-292), they only dropped one spot to third with 582 strokes as they trail New Orleans by one and lead UIW by one.

Helped by an eagle on the 15th hole, Jacob Lindh has emerged as LU's top golfer through two rounds after he posted a round of 71 to be in sixth with 143 strokes. While Hugo Hellman recorded four birdies in the round, a pair of double bogeys would get him a round of 73 and sit tied for seventh with 114 strokes. Carl Hardin, who was tied with Hellman after the first round, managed to shoot one stroke higher with 74 and now, he sits tied for 13th with 145 strokes.

For the second round in a row, Guillermo Estivill posted a 76 to be tied for 31st with 152 strokes. LU did have to make a substitution as Pedro Marin, who shot 81 in round one, was scratched from the tournament. Replacing him was David Schneider Jerez and the Spaniard would record 74 strokes on the day.

Augusta University still has a grip on the tournament leading by 18 strokes over second place UNO. Stefan Jacobs keys the Jaguars' lead as he leads by one stroke (134) against Charlie Foster of Southeastern Louisiana. The third and final round of the tournament will commence with LU teeing off with AU and UNO.
