PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -
Alessia Trebbi Tindall currently sits in a tie for fifth place as she and the Lamar University women's golf team went through two rounds of the Jupiter Women's Invitational hosted by Florida Atlantic. The Cardinals as a team are sitting in sixth place with 596 (297-299).
The Cardinals opened the day by shooting 297 that put them in fifth place. Trebbi Tindall begin her tournament with three birdies in the first round for a total of 69. She followed up with a round of 74 to be one of five golfers in a tie for fifth at 143.
"Today was a good day of golf for me," said Trebbi Tindall. "I kept it steady in the first round and played smart. This helped a lot with not making big numbers, and I set my self up for a decent amount of birdie opportunities. The second round was a little tougher but I pushed through and tried my best. I'm excited to get back out there tomorrow and go low."
Karolina Krasova is tied for 25th after rounds of 76 and 74 got her 150 while
Grace Connelly (77-74) is one stroke and two spots behind.
Linnea Jerlebo put up rounds of 75 and 77 for a tie for 31st at 152.
Lucy Bedford is in the top 35 with a two-round total of 155 (77-78).
Montana Di Leo would complete one round of the tournament with 86, but was unable to complete the second round.
"We started off well today and our short game got the best of us," said head coach
Janell O'Connor. "We didn't execute on the holes we needed to and made too many bogeys. Tomorrow is another day to try again."
Led by Clemence Cadeac, who has a four-stroke lead on Hoi Ki Lau (Keiser), FAU has a two stroke lead over Western Carolina. LU will complete their tournament tomorrow morning with the third and final round. Beginning at 6:51 am central time, LU will tee off along with Jacksonville and Keiser.
