After a week off from competing, the Lamar University women's golf team will look to return to action as they will travel down to Huntsville to partake in Sam Houston's Remax Prime Properties Bearkat Invitational. This two-day, three-round tournament will run from Monday, September 26th to Tuesday, September 27th.
The Cardinals opened their season at the Hobble Creek Classic in Springville, Utah two weeks ago. They wound up finishing 13th place overall out of 18 teams by shooting 937 strokes (313-311-313).
Linnea Jerlebo (76-74-76) shot a team-best 229 strokes for a tie for 27th finish.
Alessia Trebbi Tindall (76-74-82) ended up tied for 39th after a three-round total of 232 strokes while
Grace Connelly (T48th; 76-74-82=234) finished her first tournament in the top 50 after shooting two strokes behind.
Madi Smith tied for 84th with rounds of 85, 81, and 76 to put up 242 strokes.
Montana Di Leo recorded 256 strokes (86-81-89) to put herself in 108th place. Although she competed as an individual,
Karolina Krasova tied for 57th with rounds of 76, 76, and 84 for a total of 236 strokes.
The Cardinals now turn their attention to the Bearkat Invitational. Last season, LU finished 14th place overall with 981 strokes (339-328-314). Trebbi Tindall posted a three-round total of 242 strokes (84-80-78) for a tie for 57th place. Smith (88-83-75) was four strokes behind as she tied for 63rd while Jerlebo, who fired her then best round 77 to go with two 85's, was tied for 65th with 247 strokes.
All the rounds in this tournament will take place at the Bearkat Course.
