BEAUMONT, Texas - For the second straight game, the Lamar University women's basketball team will be heading on the road to take on a nationally ranked Southeastern Conference school in their building. This time, it will be a trip to Baton Rouge to meet up with the #11 ranked LSU Tigers for a 7:00 p.m., tipoff on Wednesday night.
Giving Arkansas a Scare
Although the Cardinals would fall short to Arkansas 63-50, they did play three tough quarters against the #21 Razorbacks. They led after the first quarter 16-13 and 33-31 at halftime while they only trailed 47-43 after three quarters
Wednesday Is Not The Only Adams Family Member Thriving
Portia Adams scored 12 points to lead LU against Arkansas. Along with a career-high 24 points in the Cardinals' last game, Adams averaged 18.0 ppg in the last two games, which is the highest two-game stretch of her career. Currently averaging 13.3 ppg this season, Adams is fifth in the conference while teammate
Sabria Dean is third with 15.5 ppg.
Standing Up To a Power Five
Arkansas's 63 points against LU was the lowest total they scored in a game this season. Their previous total had been 69 points against then No. 25 ranked Kansas State. Currently, LU is fourth in the Southland Conference with 62.1 ppg allowed.
History Against The Tigers
LU is 5-12 all-time against the Tigers. The last time LU won was during the 94-95 season when they also last won a game in Baton Rouge 68-62. LU has lost the last five meetings to LU. Â

LSU is off to a 9-0 start to their season after they defeated Tulane 85-72 down in New Orleans. Winners of 12 straight home games and 20 of their last 22 games, the Tigers are currently ranked 11th in the nation and are averaging 96.8 ppg, which is 14 points better than second place South Carolina in the SEC. Angel Reese is leading the SEC in scoring with 23.1 ppg. She has had 20 or more points in seven of LSU's nine games including a career-high 31 against Bellarmine.
