JUPITER, Fla. - Unable to improve from the first day, Lamar University's women's golf team had a difficult third round in the Jupiter Women's Invitational shooting 313 strokes. Along with the rounds of 301 and 302 from yesterday, the Cardinals completed the tournament with 916 strokes, which was good for ninth place in the nine-team tournament.

Alessia Trebbi Tindall was able to crack the top 20 as she finished the tournament with 222 strokes (69-76-77). Grace Connelly also posted 77 strokes in the third round to go with 79 and 74 from yesterday, which gets her 33rd with 230 strokes. Linnea Jerlebo was one stroke (77-74-80=231) and one spot behind Connelly while Karolina Krasova (76-78-79=233) finished tied for 39th. Madi Smith would end her appearance in Jupiter with three rounds of 82 to be in 45th place with 246 strokes.

Today was rough," said head coach Janell Howland. "We didn't play very well. We didn't execute shots when we should have and we made silly mistakes. All we can do is learn from it and take these next couple weeks to improve and get ready for Mercer."

Western Carolina claimed the overall team title by seven strokes over Florida Gulf Coast, who had the tournament's individual champion in Anna Claire Bridge as she bested WCU's Madison Isaacson by one stroke.
