WACO, Texas – The Lamar University men's tennis team closed out the 2022 ITA Regional Championships with two singles matches Saturday afternoon. Both
Max Amling and Peter Elias took the court for the Red and White and both put up a battle but fell in three sets.
Amling squared off against Baylor's Juampi Mazzuchi in the main draw round of 32. He battled back from an opening-round loss to the seeded Mazzuchi, but the Baylor Bear survived in front of his hometown fans, 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.
Peter took on SMU's Alex Stafford in the consolation round of the main draw, but dropped a 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 decision.
The Cardinals return to action Friday when they travel to Corpus Christi, Texas to compete in the Islander Open 2.
