Akasha Davis (19 points, 12 rebounds) was one of two Cardinals with double-doubles along with Anyssia Gibbs (12 points, 11 rebounds) to spark LU. Sabria Dean also posted 19 points while she recorded a team-high eight assists. Angel Hastings managed to have four steals while scoring 11 points along with Michaela Wilson. Malay McQueen contributed 15 points in the game.

"We're just trying to work on us and be the best version of us we can be," said head coach Aqua Franklin. "We were ready to see us against another opponent. We've done a lot of great things, but there are some things we need to work on. The shots also didn't fall through for us with a lot of great looks, which I'm fine with. Defensively, we need to tighten up more, but, we were just excited to face someone else."

The Cards only scored 17 points in the first quarter behind 31.6% shooting from the field. The game started off tied at 4-4 before LU went on an 11-0 run to grab a 15-4 lead. The trio of Davis, Dean, and Hastings combined for 12 of the points in the quarter.

In the second quarter, LU exploded for 29 points to bring their lead to 46-13 at the break. They started with 19 unanswered points as Dean and McQueen produced 11 of the points in that stretch. In all, the Red Birds were red hot shooting 61.9% from the field while holding the Bulldogs to five points on 15.4% shooting.

While JCC would put up 15 third quarter points, the Cardinals would have another solid quarter shooting 56.3% from the field and scoring 26 points to lead 72-28 after three. Davis would put up eight points in the quarter while Hastings collected five points. Another player with a solid quarter was Kayla Mitchell, who scored all four of her points in the third.

The fourth quarter was a tight quarter as the Cardinals managed 23 points while holding JCC to 19. LU's lead reached 50 points with 6:24 to go in the game on a McQueen three-pointer.

LU will hit the road for their first game of the regular season as they will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to meet with the Lobos of the University of New Mexico. The tip off will start at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night.
