BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's basketball team opens a four-game road trip on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they travel to Lake Charles, La., to face McNeese. The Cardinals will be looking for its 11th straight victory. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

The game between the Cards and Cowgirls will be played at the brand-new H&HP Complex, which opened this season. McNeese played its first game in the H&HP Complex on Nov. 21 and are 4-3 in the new arena.

McNeese enters the contest with the Cards coming off an 81-71 victory over Houston Baptist on Jan. 26. The win for the Cowgirls is its third straight. Against the Huskies, McNeese shot 42.4 percent from the field and hit eight three-pointers. The Huskies forced McNeese into 14 turnovers in the contest. McNeese had four players score in double-figures, led by Callie Maddox. Maddox played 35 minutes and scored 23 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Regan Bolton followed with 14 points and hit a team-high three three-pointers.

McNeese is led in scoring by Maddox, who is averaging 14.1 points per game. Regan Bolton is the only other Cowgirl averaging double-figures averaging 11.2 points per game. Damilola Balogun leads McNeese averaging 7.7 rebounds per game. Bolton leads the team with 48 made three-pointers on the season.

As a team, McNeese is averaging 62.7 points per game and are shooting 35.6 percent from the floor. The Cowgirls scored a season-high 106 points against Southern-New Orleans on Dec. 17. Opponents are averaging 77.8 points per game and shooting 43.2 percent from the floor on the season.

The Cowgirls were picked to finish eighth in the Southland Conference Preseason Poll.

LAST TIME OUT – NICHOLLS
The Lamar University Cardinals remained unbeaten in Southland Conference play on Wednesday night after a 78-65 victory over Nicholls. The win for the Cards is its 38-straight victory at the Montagne Center.

With the win, Lamar improves to 15-4 on the season and 8-0 in SLC action, while Nicholls falls to 11-9 on the season and 5-3 SLC play.

Robin Harmony. "We had a really great game as a team. The team came out and played a great 40 minutes and put on a great show. Whoever was in the Montagne Center saw a great game."

LU shot 39 percent for the contest and forced the Colonels into 21 turnovers. Barrs led the Cards with five steals in the contest. LU shot 55 percent (11-for-20) on three-pointers in the first half of the game. With the win, Lamar winning streak is now at 10 straight.

The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 6 when they travel to Abilene, Texas to face Abilene Christian. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. from Moody Coliseum.
