        ARLINGTON, Texas - The Lamar men's tennis team quickly jumped up 5-0 after it took the        doubles point and first four singles matches, and defeated former Southland Conference        member Oral Roberts 5-2 at a neutral site on Saturday in non-conference action.
        Lamar improved to 9-8 on the season and stayed perfect against the Golden Eagles (8-9)        since head coach Scott        Shankles took the helm.
        Oral Roberts took the first game of the doubles point when Ciaran Lavers and Amar        Salerovic defeated Michael        Feucht and Benny        Schweizer 6-2 on court two. Jeandre        Hoogenboezem and Nikita        Lis tied the point when they took down Alejandro Capdequi and Jan Pehnec 6-3 on No. 1        doubles. Hoogneboezem and Lis remain undefeated as a doubles team, and Lis remains        undefeated as an individual in doubles play.
        Juuso        Laitinen and Mikko        Rajamaki clinched the doubles point on a 6-3 win over Alvaro Santamaria and Michael        Sosnowski on court three. The duo improved to 4-4 this season and took the first its first        match from line three.
        Hoogenboezem gave Lamar a 2-0 advantage after his straight-set 6-2, 6-1 singles win over        Santamaria on line four. He improved 10-6 on the season and 8-2 on court four. Schweizer        also upped his season mark to 10-6 (6-4 line three) after a 6-3, 6-2 win in straight sets,        which pushed the score to 3-0 in favor of Lamar.
        Michael        Feucht clinched the match from No. 2 on a comeback after he dropped the first set 6-3.        He took the next two from Capdequi 6-1, 6-3 and improved his record 10-6 on the year and        8-6 on the second court.
        Steven        McMullan also had to make a comeback after losing his first set 6-3, but he bounced        back and downed Lavers 6-4, 6-1 to give the Cardinals a 5-0 advantage.
        Laitinen lost his first set 7-6 to Michael Sosnowski, but he battled back to the second        6-3 and forced a third. The third set when to a tiebreaker, but Laitinen eventually fell        10-6 and lost his match.
        Lis also lost his match in three sets, but he took the first on line one 6-1. Salerovic        rebounded and took the final two 6-4, 6-4.
        Lamar finishes its five-game road stand at Texas-Arlington on Sunday at 11 o'clock. The        Cardinals snapped a 21-game win streak the Mavericks held in 2014.
